Our project, "Reconnection: Physical theatre tools for youth workers" puts this on focus: how we can improve our performance in youth work by improving our non-verbal communication and performing skills. We are going to approach this through the tools of physical theatre.

To our Reconnection training course, we invite youth workers, trainers, educators, volunteers and members of youth NGOs to embark on the journey towards Reconnection with us. We welcome people with fewer opportunities and with different levels of experience.

ASSITEJ (International Association of Theatre for Children and Young People), was founded in 1965 with the understanding of theatrical arts as a communication tool combining the peoples with different cultural and historical backgrounds; thus, serving the peace in the world. ASSITEJ Turkey is one of the national centres of ASSITEJ international, which commits the international philosophy and mission of ASSITEJ at the local context.
The range of activities conducted by ASSITEJ Turkey includes international festivals for theatre and young people and seminars, panels, workshops, and so on. ASSITEJ Turkey provides arts education to increase the quality of young actors’ and actresses’ impact. ASSITEJ Turkey organises workshops several times in a year. Even though its administrative centre is in Ankara, several workshops are also jointly organised with local members of ASSITEJ Turkey. As ASSITEJ Turkey has a membership system that is based on application & evaluation procedures, the member profile provides many resourceful people all around Turkey. That is how we are able to create platforms where more capable and experienced meet with the less advantaged but motivated people. The main aim of ASSITEJ Turkey is to create this platform and make it sustainable.

The Reconnection Team
Bilge has a MA on "possibilities of dance in the theatre for young audience" at Theatre Department of Ankara University, and she is currently doing her PhD in "movement and physicality in performing arts" at the same department. She finished certification program of Laban / Bartenieff Movement Studies in Berlin and had a Creative Drama training in Ankara. She has studied physical theatre in The Commedia School in Copenhagen. Bilge will be one of your trainers.

Viktoria comes from Hungary and she has solid experience in coaching and personal development. For 9 years she has worked as a youth worker and trainer mainly in the topic of mentoring, communication, coaching, youth work. In the last 5 years, she has been specialized on personal development and group coaching with NLP and life coaching background. Viktoria will be one of your trainers.

Özgehan (MA in theatre pedagogy) is a senior teacher and trainer. He currently works at Balikesir University and ASSITEJ Turkey. He has developed and organized several projects funded by Erasmus+. He trained process drama workshops at international institutions and events such as festivals and conferences. He is currently the academic advisor of ‘Merkez Tiyatro’, a student ensemble at Balikesir University, Turkey. Özgehan is the project manager of Reconnection.

Marietta has been working as a project manager and facilitator in youth projects for the last 6 years and holds a MA in International Relations. Marietta has working experience from different countries (Hungary, Portugal, Belgium, Greece and New Zealand) and different sectors. Marietta will support Özgehan in management, coordination and communication.

Your accommodation and food is covered from 25 August evening to 5 September morning. If you decide to arrive earlier or stay longer, you are responsible to cover your costs for those days. In case you arrive earlier or leave later than 2 days before or after the training course, we cannot reimburse your travel cost.
When organising your travel, we will support you to find the most economic options. |
AccommodationYou will be accommodated in 2-bedded rooms with ensuites. Meals will be provided three times a day by the hotel according to the personal and religious diets. The hotel is across the street from our training venue and next to a metro station.

Training venueTiyatro Tempo is a major theatre for children and young people in Turkey and it will be the venue of our training programme. The theatre hall has a stage of 100 square meters with high quality light- and sound system. Tea and coffee will be provided here in the breaks.

Cost and reimbursement
What is covered
What you cover
We can only reimburse your travel expenses if you send all your e-tickets, e-invoices, e-boarding passes and e-receipts. If e-documents are not issued then originals are accepted. All documents need to be issued by the serving companies! Without these travelling costs cannot be reimbursed. Unfortunately we cannot reimburse taxis or first class tickets! If you are selected, you will receive more information about the travel reimbursement rules in the confirmation letter. |

Please note that if you are coming from Ireland, Spain or the United Kingdom, you will need to apply before arrival for an e-visa! Your visa costs will be reimbursed up to 25€.
If you are coming from Bulgaria, Denmark, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia or Lithuania, you most probably will have to hold a passport which is valid for a certain time also after your arrival to Turkey. |
